Nik joined CMHC’s Climate Change team in September 2021 having spent over 18 years supporting Canada’s energy sector. He is leading CMHC’s multi-unit housing mission to advance and accelerate the adoption of net-zero and climate resilient multi-unit housing by 2050.
Prior to joining CMHC, he led the development and implementation of four multi-year energy efficiency frameworks in Ontario as Director of Energy Efficiency for the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) helping advance the vision for energy efficiency to compete alongside more traditional resources to meet Ontario’s local and bulk electricity system needs.
As a volunteer Board member for StepUp Energy, he is passionate in helping accelerate gender equity, diversity and inclusion in Canada’s energy management sector.
Based in Toronto, Nik enjoys exploring by bike or by foot the many green spaces located throughout the region, however, retreats to visit family in the Ottawa Valley and Northwestern Ontario every few months to reset and recharge.
