Allan began his career working in consulting engineering on a variety of infrastructure projects He joined the City of Burlington in 1991 and since this time has held a number of positions with the city including Manager of Technical Services and Development Engineering, Director of Roads and Parks Maintenance, Executive Director of Corporate Strategic Initiatives and his current role as Executive Director of Environment, Infrastructure and Community Services where he oversees the city’s Energy and Sustainability Initiatives, Facilities and Buildings, Engineering Services, Roads Parks and Forestry Department, Recreation Community and Culture and the Fire Services. Within this portfolio, Allan oversees the design, construction, operation, and renewal of the city’s real-estate assets including energy planning and management for the city.

Allan is a licensed Professional Engineer having graduated from the Civil Engineering and Management program at McMaster University and also received his MBA from McMaster.
