Bala Gnanam is the Vice President of Sustainability, Advocacy & Stakeholder Relations with the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada (BOMA Canada). Bala brings close to 20 years of experience in the energy,
commercial real-estate and manufacturing sectors. He holds a Bachelor of (B.Sc.) in mathematics. He is also a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM) with the Association of Energy Engineers. Passionate about sustainability and climate action through better building performance.
At BOMA Canada he is responsible for managing and facilitating the development and delivery of educational and though-leadership contents, programs, and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance to the broader membership. Bala is also actively involved in the association’s advocacy initiatives, working closely with all three levels of governments and industry stakeholders contributing to policies and programs impacting the Commercial Real Estate industry in Canada.
