Richard Marshall, MEB, P.Eng., is Director of Design and Innovation, Bird Construction – Winnipeg, where he leads multi-faceted teams in collaborative project delivery methods, including Progressive Design-Build, Integrated Project Delivery, and Construction Management. His current efforts involve Deep-Energy Building Retrofit and Net-Zero Energy projects, with attention to sustainability, durability, carbon reduction, climate resilience, and life-cycle cost reduction.
Richard has over forty years of progressively increasing experience in the commercial and light industrial construction and real estate development industry in Canada and the United States, and has a stellar industry reputation and well-rounded experience in all aspects of commercial construction. He has a comprehensive understanding of Canada’s regulatory environment and policy, gained through over fifteen years of industry involvement and leadership in Building Code and Energy Code development – holding national, provincial, and municipal volunteer positions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the Ohio State University, and a Master of Environment and Business from the University of Waterloo.
