Philippe is an energy and environment solutions specialist with over seventeen years experience in federal government regulatory development, program design, program development and implementation, and policy analysis in the sectors of clean technology, clean energy, buildings and communities and industry. He also worked in the private sector for over seven years cumulating industrial experience in the environmental and energy fields for primary and manufacturing industries.
Philippe currently manages of a team of economists and engineers that design, implement and deliver RD&D programming for the built environment (residential, commercial and institutional buildings as well as communities), including grants and contributions programs such as the Greener Neighbourhood Pilot Program, the Green Infrastructure Energy Efficient Building RD&D Program, and other funding supporting interdepartmental federal research and initiatives for technology adoption including NRCan’s LEEP team. His team also supported the development of the recently published Canada Green Building Strategy for innovation.
Key retrofit projects supported by these programs include: The Sundance Housing Cooperative deep energy retrofit, the Ottawa Community Housing Prefabricated Net-Zero Energy Retrofit of Affordable Row Housing, The ReCover Initiative: Panelized Deep Energy Retrofits of Municipal Buildings project, Fanshawe College Net Zero Energy Ready Retrofit Housing Demonstration, the City of Toronto Deep Retrofit Challenge.
