Angela Horner serves as Co-founder and Training & Education Lead of Quantum Passivhaus, an Ontario-based company specializing in high-performance building enclosures for new construction and retrofit projects.
Possessing a diverse background, including a B.A. in Humanities and a diploma in Ecosystem
Management, Angela held positions such as District Ecologist for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Resource Planner for the Ontario Conservation Authority before establishing Quantum Passivhaus in 2015. In 2015 Angela also became the 2nd person in Canada to be certified as a Passive House Institute Tradesperson. Since then her focus has shifted to healthy energy efficient construction based on sound building science.
Angela emphasizes an integrated perspective, acknowledging that "People are part of ecosystems." Notably, in 2024, Quantum Passivhaus introduced two retrofit panel systems, one low-carbon and one non-combustible, designed to advance the retrofit industry while keeping sound building science practices on top of mind. Outside of her professional endeavors, Angela is a native plant enthusiast and a self-professed “husky lover”.
