Dr. Natalia Cooper is a behavioral scientist working as an Associate Research Officer and Project Manager within the Human-Building Interaction (HBI) group at the Construction Research Centre, NRC. She holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Liverpool, UK. In her work, she applies behavioral science principles, human factors methodologies, and user-centric approaches to explore attitudes, perceptions, and decision-making behaviors related to user experience, which includes satisfaction, comfort, privacy, well-being, and accessibility for aging in place. In her most recent projects, she focuses on technology acceptance and adoption, including the use of VR/XR technologies for evaluation, training, and design; the assessment of industrialized construction processes and workforce upskilling needs; and the energy efficiency and integration of innovative and smart technologies in new and retrofitted buildings. Dr. Cooper currently serves as the Chair of the Environmental Psychology Section of the Canadian Psychological Association.
