Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery
Description
Canadian Colleges for a Resilient Recovery (C2R2)is a coalition of 15 postsecondary institutions from across Canada, dedicated to advancing workforce training and applied research in energy security and sustainability. By partnering with industry, government, and community organizations, C2R2 ensures skills development is aligned with the evolving needs of a clean and inclusive economy.
Established in 2020, C2R2 has built a strong model for national collaboration, with members spanning nearly every province and territory. These relationships foster deep trust and serve as a vital link to employers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders. Mohawk College serves as the coordinating secretariat.
C2R2’s core focus is expanding a national training network that supports industrial, skilled, and trades workers in upgrading their skills in sectors critical to energy resilience. Equity, inclusion, and a commitment to truth and reconciliation with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples are central to its approach.
Through initiatives like Quick Train Canada, C2R2 institutions offer accessible, short-cycle training that equips Canadians with the practical, in-demand skills needed to thrive in sustainable industries. Courses are offered in English and French. Together, C2R2 members are helping thousands of learners transition to careers that support a cleaner, more resilient future—strengthening both Canada’s workforce and its environmental goals.
