Mathieu Côte has been CIET Executive Director since 2012, transforming it into the most active low-carbon capacity building centre in Canada. Under Mathieu’s leadership, CIET has
significantly improved its revenues, geographical reach, training portfolios, as well as internal capacity. Through this work, he has gained the trust of most utilities and government ministries across Canada, thereby developing long-term collaborations with them. In addition to his role at CIET, Mathieu was a Regional Energy Champion for Efficiency Canada from 2021-2023, is a peer reviewer for Efficiency Canada’s Provincial Energy Efficiency Scorecard, and is Secretary to the Board of the Quebec Council of Energy Efficiency Companies (CQ3E). In recognition of his contribution, Mathieu was also awarded with the Association of Energy Engineer’s Canadian Energy Professional Development Award in 2023.
